Control the pregnancy with birth control pills

Birth of child makes a women complete, but the most important question is are you ready for it? Today’s women’s have a changed vision where career is given more priority over family. In a way, the thinking is right, because a child should come to the world only when his/her parents are ready to take care of it. If both the partners are working or are not financially stable, it is best to postpone the pregnancy for a few years until you are ready for it. Pregnancy is a crucial stage in like where a woman is reborn as a mother. Women’s need complete rest over this period and have to be pampered a lot for better sex. Pregnancy comes with different set of responsibilities for both husband and wife. As mentioned, it is always good to delay the pregnancy for few years if you have time and can wait.

How to postpone pregnancy?
This is one question that has many answers. There are many contraceptive methods which you can use to delay your pregnancy. Here are some of the best and most used contraceptive methods which can keep your pregnancy at bay without any side effects:

Condoms:
Yes, condoms are the famous and most used contraceptive methods. Condoms, which are made of latex, come in different variants and acts as a barrier between sperms and ovum. These are usually used by men, but there are condoms which are made exclusively for women. These are safe and pose no side effects for health. Condoms may be effective, but not all are in favour of using it. Some have issues with the latex and the friction. Condom manufacturing companies now make flavoured condoms which would give a different feeling during oral sex. There are long lasting condoms which are medicated with gel that ensures lasting longer in bed and hard erection. Along with being a birth control measure, it also protects you from sexually transmitted diseases.

Birth Control Pills:
Birth control pills are other effective contraceptive options. These pills which are easily available at drug stores must be consumed only after consulting your gynaecologist. These pills will not give you protection from STD’s like condom, but will effective help in maintaining the age gap between two children and also prevent unwanted pregnancy. These pills should be popped every day except the mensuration period. These pills can be stopped when you want to plan a family. A certified gynaecologist will guide you with the right pill that would suit your body type.

Intrauterine Device:
This method of contraceptive is one that has no or very minimal side effects. A condom can be ruptured or you can also miss your pills to make you pregnant, but this IUD device will ensure that your pregnancy is completely under your control. This device is inserted in the vagina by the gynaecologist and it stays there preventing the sperms from mating with the ovum. There are different IUD’s which are inserted depending on the period that you want to control the pregnancy. An effective IUD can prevent your pregnancy for a period ranging from 1 to 10 years.

Safe Sex Education – Condom Effectiveness vs. Hormonal Birth Control

Birth control and safe sex education are volatile subjects. Unfortunately, safe sex education is still a taboo, with all the progressive movements and women’s rights around. However, we may very well assume that most people do not wait until they get married. Abstinence is not an option anymore, since these days the gist of young people educates themselves and get one or more degrees, they attend college or university well in their mid-twenties, they cannot even think of starting a family until their early thirties. A first occasion at the age of thirty would be more than awkward, it would most certainly lead to issues. So let’s put aside the idea that one will get married to the right person and they will stay faithful forever. It hardly ever – if ever – happens in real life. Safe sex education is more realistic.

It is natural that one does not want children. You do not have to explain yourself why. Listen to your heart. Instinct will tell you whether you want it or not, at least, not yet. You should always consult your gynecologist before you decide on contraception.

Do not trust condom effectiveness to avoid pregnancy. Hormonal contraception is safer than barrier methods. It is a fact. Hormonal methods have much lower failure rate. Some people believe in condom effectiveness, they think that condoms can protect them from unwanted pregnancy and STDs sexually transmitted diseases) alike. This is not the case. Even if a condom does not break, it is still less safe than pills. Those failure rates are higher for a reason. Due to improper storage, like exposure to heat, cold or light – how can you know whether condoms were stored properly before you bought them? –, a condom may have tiny imperfections that can lead to leaks. Fingernails or jewelry may damage a condom. You can wear away or tear a condom while you put it on or while you are having an intercourse. Semen can spill out at the top. Oil-based products like creams, lotions, moisturizers, lubricants can damage a condom. If you do not use lubricants inside the condom, a longer sexual intercourse may wear it off and it may break – if you do use lubricants, too much of them, the condom may slip off. Condoms can slip anyway, you will not even notice the tiny drops of semen that can get you in trouble. You do not want to play Russian roulette with your safety and health but a better sex life.

Condom Effectiveness and Safe Sex Education

Male condoms are 85% safe. Even if you use a condom perfectly, condom effectiveness is only 98% safe. Female condoms have even worse ratings. A condom may help prevent sexually transmitted diseases, but do not trust condom effectiveness when it comes to unwanted pregnancy. It would be best if you used a combined method. Get a condom to protect yourself from STDs and use a safer birth control method at the same time.

Safe Sex Education: Pros and Cons of Hormonal Birth Control

Hormonal contraceptives are safe. When used perfectly, pills have less than one percent failure rate. IUDs are even better. Yes, there can be repercussions. IUDs may cause painful, intense menstrual bleeding. Birth control pills may mean a risk for you if you smoke, take antidepressants, are prone to blood clotting, have cardiovascular diseases, diabetes or high blood pressure. However, doctors may come up with lots of safe options. At the vast majority of the cases, the worst side-effects of pills are minor symptoms like nausea or tender breasts. Do not be afraid of chemical contraception.
If you are sure that you never want to have kids, you may want a hysterectomy. It does not have to be a radical hysterectomy, which means that your ovaries are removed, too. It is a good idea to keep your ovaries; do not get rid of them. They produce hormones that will help prevent osteoporosis and early aging. If you have your entire womb removed, with the ovaries left in your body, you cannot get pregnant ever again – there will be no place for a fetus to grow.

Always think twice which method to use, and be reasonable. Consider your sexual health, your sexual life, the number of sexual partners, the effects and side-effects of birth control methods before you make a decision.

How to Find the Right Condom?

Condoms are mechanical contraceptive that men apply on the penis before the sexual intercourse. The fact is that many men try to avoid using this contraceptive and the reasons for that are different. Some say that the condoms squeeze their penis; others have problems with the size of the condom. Furthermore, some men are suffering from allergies caused by condoms while others say that they don’t feel aroused after they place the condom. These are some of the reasons why men avoid condoms and there are many more. However, the condom is one of the best “tools” when it comes to sexually transmitted diseases as well as one of the most effective products for the prevention of mechanical pouring of sperm into the vagina (unwanted pregnancy). According to some statistics less than 10% of women who had sex with a partner wearing a condom end up pregnant. Now that we know how important condoms are in some situations let’s see how to choose the right one.

First of all, condoms can be found in many different sizes. There are condoms with a basic size (they usually adjust to the size of the penis) but there are also condoms with extra large size. Their length varies between 6,2 inches to 8,6 inches. The width can vary too – from about 1,9 inches and above, with some condoms designed in a way that the width is not equal to the head and the base of the penis, which allows better comfort and of course more sexual pleasure. In any case, choose a condom that is suitable for the size of your penis and be objective. Too big condoms can slip from the penis, while too small condoms can break easily.

There are different materials used for production of condoms. The most common materials used for condoms are latex, those based on animal tissues and on synthetic mass. All these condoms are successful when it comes to their original function (prevention against STD and unwanted pregnancy). However, condoms based on latex are especially useful against STD and the good thing is that they can be found everywhere. People that are allergic to latex can use condoms based on polyurethane. These condoms are very thin and that’s why they are used by men who don’t have problems with allergies. Polyurethane condoms are recommended for people who use creams and gels against fungal infections. Although oil-based lubricants generally don’t affect the integrity of polyurethane condoms, try to use lubricants based on water. Oil-based lubricants are dangerous for those who use latex condoms because they can break them.

Nowadays we can also choose from condoms that have different texture and even taste. Condoms can be smooth, wrinkled, ribbed etc. It’s a good idea to try condoms with different types of texture because they can increase the pleasure during the sexual intercourse. When it comes to the taste the best option is to ask the partner because after all she will be the one that will taste it.
